Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), Flux-Core, and SMAW (Stick) processes
- Interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to determine consumables and welding variables
- Produce high-quality fabricated components in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Operate and maintain welding machines, measuring equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Work closely with boilermakers, welders, and workshop supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Comply with all workplace health, safety, and quality requirements
- Assist with additional fabrication tasks as directed by the workshop supervisor
Requirements
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Welder) or equivalent
- Ability to pass a welder qualification test
- Strong experience in GMAW (MIG) welding
- Experience with TIG, Flux-Core, and/or Stick welding is highly advantageous
- Experience welding stainless steel is an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret welding procedure specifications and drawings
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence
- Forklift, Dogman (DG), or other high-risk work licences are advantageous
